Special Edition PLAY:5s to debut at Miami art fair

This week in Miami, Sonos will kick off an exciting product collaboration with the visionary artists at Creative Growth, the largest art center for adults with disabilities. Four select artists– Susan Janow, Donald Mitchell, Gerone Spruill and Aurie Ramirez–have created eight unique images to be digitally printed onto the grills of a limited run of SONOS PLAY:5 players.

The artists, who have been featured in countless articles and have shown their work throughout the world, created each piece with music as the inspiration. The artwork contains musical subject matter, or deals with abstracted musical themes such as rhythm, repetition and harmony.

To celebrate the release of special edition PLAY:5 wireless HiFi systems, Sonos will present the Opening Night Party for the NADA Art Fair at the Shore Club in Miami’s South Beach, featuring New York DJs Jon Santos and Venus X. The custom PLAY:5s will be sold exclusively at the fair December 1-4 as a special edition art object for $500, with 100% of proceeds from sales benefiting Creative Growth programming.

But you don’t have to be in Miami to enjoy the fruits of this collaboration. Join in by listening to this playlist of funk and old-school hip-hop favorites by participating artist and DJ Gerone Spruill.
