Last November, we introduced you to Sonos Labs, a program that provides music service developers access to SMAPI–the free Sonos Music API, Technical Documentation & Tools Suite. The platform allows music services to make themselves available on Sonos faster than ever before, all while giving our customers early access to the service during the development and testing phases.
WiMP, one of the first services to get involved with Sonos Labs after it launched, leaves the initiation grounds today to become a fully-vetted offering for Sonos owners living in Scandinavia. It is one of many music partners we hope to make available with help from SMAPI.
WiMP lets you play all the music you love, and get music recommendations from a catalog of more than 10 million tracks. You can save playlists and favorites for easy access, or search for your favorite artists, albums or tracks to play. There’s also plenty of pre-programmed content from the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish editorial staff, as well as the WiMP Top 20 and recommended music for any occasion based on your listening tastes.
