Last.fm updates subscription policy

In keeping with a statement released earlier this year, Last.fm moves to a premium, ad-free experience on Sonos today. If you currently use the radio service on Sonos, Last.fm is offering one month for free as a thank you to its loyal fan base. Starting September 15, those who want to continue listening to streaming music will be prompted to sign up for a subscription, which charges a modest fee of $3.00 per month. Scrobbling remains free for all users.

Are you a scrobbling addict? Tell us about it below!

And how about Last.fm already paying members?

Is the $3 only for listening to Last.fm, or also scrobbling to Last.fm?

Hi Eric – Scrobbling remains free for all users! We have updated our post to reflect that detail.

“This change only affects the radio component of Last.fm’s services on
mobile and home entertainment devices. Other features of our service —
like scrobbling, music and event recommendations, social networking and
community forums, and Last.fm’s wiki-based artist information pages —
    remain free to users worldwide.”
