Grand Ole OpryThe Grand Ole Opry has showcased country music’s biggest stars since 1925, when it was just a radio show called the “WSM Barn Dance.” After announcer George “Judge” Hay uttered the phrase “Grand Ole Opry” over the Nashville’s airwaves on December 10, 1927, the weekly country music show earned a new name.
