It Happened In Music: 100 years of Fenway
As the oldest operating Major League ballpark in the country, Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts is celebrating 100 years today. Currently home to the Boston Red Sox, Fenway has hosted some of the biggest triumphs and defeats in MLB history. Appropriately, we’re celebrating this momentous occasion with music.
Music has long been a cornerstone of the baseball experience, starting with “The Star-Spangled Banner” played at the 1918 World Series. Music key not only to the fans in attendance, but also to the players as they step out of the bullpen and make the long walk up to the plate. So we’ve compiled a playlist of “walk-up songs” ranging from the early days to now.
