The world’s biggest DJ’s, producers, fans and a whole host of industry experts descend on Amsterdam for Amsterdam Dance Event, (ADE) a five-day festival and conference that spans the breadth of the global dance music scene.
SONOS Studio will be opening its doors in partnership with the ADE for an exclusive three-day programme of art, music and discussion in the heart of the leading electronic music platform and the biggest club festival in the world for the whole spectrum of electronic sub-genres.
SONOS Studio @ ADE is an acoustically designed space that celebrates music listening and is the best place to experience The Sonos Wireless HiFi System. The SONOS Studio is a studio programme (in Los Angeles, @ SXSW and now @ ADE) that explores the intersection of music, art and technology through creative collaboration, exhibitions, intimate concerts, listening parties, workshops and more.

BLOW YOUR HEAD
Following the exceptional response at Sonos’ LA Studio, this interactive multimedia-documentary installation by Diplo and Shane McCauley highlights music scenes from around the world.
One of the world’s most respected labels, Kompakt, celebrates 20 years in dance music with live performance from classical musician, Gregor Schwellenbach who has reinterpreted highlights from the label’s catalogue into a stunning live performance.
Exclusive listening sessions will include an album preview with Dutch artist Awanto3, from one of the Netherlands’ most iconic labels, Rush Hour.

Sonos is proud to present ADE Music Talks, where DJs and Producers talk about the tracks that matter to them. Artists participating in these sessions include Henrik Schwartz, Martyn, DJ Pierre, Frank Wiedemann (Âme)

Create your own handmade speakers at our speaker lab using genuine Sonos components.
Los Angeles Music Director and DJ Jason Bentley will be on site recording interviews and live mixes for broadcast on his weekly dance-centric Metropolis program on 89.9FM KCRW and www.KCRW.com.

Gregor Tresher: The Soundtrack of My Life
Producer, DJ and label owner. Gregor Tresher seems to have it all. Starting to release his first music in 2001, he experienced his real breakthrough in 2005 when he remixed Sven Vath’s ‘Come’. Now, three albums and a long list of EP’s and remixes later, he is relentlessly touring the world. At the Sonos Studio @ ADE he will talk about his life, his story illustrated with his all time favourite tunes.

Awanto3: Album Preview
Awanto 3, or Steven de Peven as many of us know him, has an extremely rich musical background stretching over 20 years. He launched his most recent stuff under his Awanto3 moniker, and received loads of praise for his distinguished sound. Working with artists like San Proper and Tom Trago, he is considered to be at the heart of Amsterdam’s house movement. His debut album on Rush Hour hits the stores this fall, so what better time to touch base with him, listen to his album and talk music?

Dave Clarke: Soundtrack My Life
Dave Clarke is one of the leading artists in the global techno scene. Apart from having worked with names like Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, Dave Clarke released three highly acclaimed albums and over 10 EPs. Apart from DJing and making music, Clarke is very dedicated to hosting his weekly radio show, White Noise. Quite recently, the 400th episode was aired. In the Sonos Studio @ ADE, Clarke will talk about his life in music.
Jack The Box: The Story of Jack
“In the beginning there was Jack”. A vocal that kept resonating throughout house music history. But it was not just Jack who witnessed the birth of house music in ’86 in Chicago. Tyree Cooper was there as well. Now, 3 decades later, this Chicago veteran and ‘new kid on the block’ Bobby Starr team up to form Jack The Box. With a debut album coming out late October, the unlikely duo will take their time to explain about the influences of Chicago house on dance music over the past 30 years.

Gregor Swellenbach spielt Kompakt 20 Years
On Thursday evening the Sonos Studio @ ADE will honour two full decades of beautiful techno music from Cologne. Kompakt is turning 20 this year and are celebrating this all year long. At ADE, Sonos invites classical musician Gregor Swellenbach to perform his version of the biggest Kompakt hits on piano and vibraphone. Before the show, head A&R Jon Berry will take you through the Kompakt catalogue, highlighting some of its amazing classics.

Henrik Schwarz: Talkin’ Jazz
Blending jazz, funk and soul with mid-tempo, beautiful house music has proven to be a key to success. Henrik Schwarz’ career skyrocketed over the past few years, playing his infectious live sets all over the planet. Apart from being an in demand house act, Schwarz has been involved in several side-projects, one of which was forming a jazz combo with Bugge Wesseltoft. At Sonos Studio @ ADE, Henrik will share his most beloved jazz gems with the audience.

Martyn: Soundtrack of My Life
Originating from Holland, but currently living in the USA, Martyn has been one of the main cooks stirring the stew that is bass music, tastefully mixing house, techno, drum & bass and jungle. Martyn’s debut album ‘Great Lengths’ earned him international fame and he’s been traveling the world ever since. Martyn will compile a playlist that he considers to be ‘the soundtrack of his life’ especially for Sonos Studio @ ADE.
Frank Wiedemann (Ame)
Frank Wiedemann, part of the duo Ame, has been a steady name in the international house scene for years. They are known for playing long DJsets that can easily take up 6 hours, taking the crowd on a warm a fuzzy journey through sound and time. At the Sonos Studio @ ADE, Frank will tell the people in the room about his favourite producers and productions.
The ADE is the biggest international club festival in the world for the whole spectrum of electronic sub-genres with 350 special events over five days in 75 clubs and venues around the city. The festival features the very biggest DJ and artist names on the planet, as well as a selection of the best upcoming talent making Amsterdam one of the best and most inspiring clubbing cities in the world. Each year, the ADE attracts 200,000 festival visitors, including 40,000 tourists.
The event also offers a full program of daytime conferences, making the ADE the ultimate platform for critical dialogue and debate in the field of electronic music. The conferences include ADE Pro in the Felix Meritis and the Dylan Hotel, the Hard Dance Event (HDE) focusing on the harder styles in dance music, ADE Next for aspiring producers and musicians and ADE University for students who want to learn about the realities of working in the entertainment industry from experts and mentors.
