Music is happiness
You might have noticed this already, but we’re kind of obsessed with music around here. And we’re willing to bet if you’ve got a Sonos rocking your household, you have more than just a passing interest in it as well. Luckily, we can all blame our body chemistry for this invigorating addiction. A study by scientists at McGill University found that listening to the music we love stimulates our brain to release dopamine, otherwise known as the pleasure chemical. Color us unsurprised.
If the study is a bit too heavy on the science-speak for you, check out Ars Technica’s article, which offers an in-depth take with some human emotion thrown in for good measure.
